When I decorate my home, I’m always chasing a look that feels bright, classic, and timeless. I want spaces that are clean and airy, but still warm and cozy enough to actually live in. For me, that balance comes from mixing foundation pieces I’ll never get tired of with textures, vintage finds, and little details that add warmth.
The Furniture I Always Come Back To
A neutral sectional is hands down my favorite starting point—it feels fresh and instantly makes a room look polished. I pair it with comfortable accent chairs, like the spindle or wood-arm chairs I have in my living room, because they bring in that traditional shape with a modern feel. For the coffee table, I almost always lean toward something round and natural wood—it softens the room and anchors the space without feeling too heavy.

Layered Accents for Warmth
Even with light walls and neutral furniture, I want my home to feel warm and lived-in. I love natural wood tones, cane details, and woven textures, so you’ll see baskets tucked in corners and rattan accents styled on shelves. My area rugs are always layered and slightly vintage-inspired—faded patterns in muted tones that bring so much depth to a neutral space.

Bringing the Outdoors In
One piece I reach for over and over again is a good faux olive tree. I have one in a big white planter in the corner of my living room, and it adds instant life to the space without overwhelming it. Greenery softens a room and keeps a clean design from feeling too stark.

Rugs That Anchor Every Room
I’m such a believer that a rug can completely change a room. I almost always go for vintage-inspired patterns in earthy, muted tones. A distressed rug grounds a space, adds warmth, and brings in just the right amount of color without being overwhelming. It’s one of the easiest ways to make a new build or a neutral room feel like it has history.

Vintage & Studio McGee Favorites
I love a mix of old and new—antique mirrors, weathered pottery, or a worn-in rug will always have a place in my home. But I also pull in updated pieces from Studio McGee collections: spindle chairs, gold mirrors, brass bowls, and textured lamps. They strike that same timeless note while still feeling fresh.

Artwork That Feels Collected
Artwork is another layer that really makes a home feel timeless. I love mixing gold frames with more natural wood finishes, and I’ll style art everywhere—from a statement piece above the mantle to smaller, layered prints on shelves. Sometimes I’ll even lean art against the wall instead of hanging it for a more casual feel. I tend to choose neutral sceneries, vintage landscapes, or moody florals—pieces that feel like they could have been passed down over time.

Styled but Simple Details
Decorating for me is really about the small things: coffee table books stacked under a ceramic vase, baskets styled on shelves, and small touches of brass in trays, candleholders, or frames. I don’t overfill every shelf—I like a clean, intentional look where every piece feels like it belongs.

Creating a Space That Lasts
At the end of the day, I want my home to feel welcoming and classic, with a touch of character. Clean lines, warm woods, woven textures, and a mix of vintage and modern pieces—it’s a formula I’ll always come back to.
xoxo,
Jena
